Places to Stay

Since our wedding will occur during the Labor Day weekend and there will be events in the area such as the annual "Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon," accomodations may be tough to come by - so we suggest booking something as early as possible.

The old-town center of McMinnville is a quaint area that sprang up between 1885 & 1912 that still retains its small-town charm and has plenty of great restaurants & wine bars within walking distance of one another.

Our wedding and reception will take place at a vineyard just outside of town, so McMinnville is definitely the best place to stay not only for the wedding but also for enjoying all the great things to do in the Willamette Valley.

Here are a few options to consider – including a basic national-chain motel, a funky local favorite, beds-and-breakfasts, and luxury accommodations including a five-star resort-spa.

Red Lion Inn and Suites - McMinnville

For anyone who wants to keep it simple, we've gone ahead and reserved a block of rooms at the Red Lion Inn and Suites just outside McMinnville.

It’s easy to find, right on Highway 18 near the Evergreen Air and Space Museum, just few minutes from the old-town center of McMinnville and about a fifteen minute drive to the wedding/reception venue.

The rooms are reserved under Wessling/Breaux and will be held until August 2, with rates between $98 and $135 a night. You can call (503) 472-1500 or 888-489-1600 to make a reservation.

The Hotel Oregon - McMinnville

No relation to The Hotel California, this funky place is in the heart of old-town McMinnville and is part of the regional McMenamins chain of hotels, pubs and breweries that have been converted from renovated local landmarks.

While other locations were once work-farms and schools, the Hotel Oregon formerly housed a Greyhound bus depot. This hotel has a lot of old style charm, pub-rooms hidden in odd nooks and crannies, and a rooftop bar and restaurant!

Part of its ‘qwerky charm’ is its boarding-house feel, including shared bathrooms down that hall, so it isn’t for everyone. But we’ve stayed at this and other McMenamins, and always had a great time!

The Tuscan Estate Bed-&-Breakfast - McMinnville

Several of our guests have already booked rooms at the Tuscan Estate – a European-style bed-and-breakfast which boasts a world class chef, located just five short blocks from old-town McMinnville.

Joseph Mattey House - between Lafayette and McMinnville

Located  a few miles outside of McMinnville roughly half-way between town and the wedding/reception venue is the Joseph Mattey House, which we stayed at during one of our many visits to the Willamette Valley. Quiet and secluded amid fields and vineyards, they serve an awesome breakfast.

Luxury Accommodations

Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard - outside Dundee

Located in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley wine region, the Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard has been greeting guests for over 9 years.

The inn is reminiscent of a European villa set in the upper regions of a 42-acre property that includes a 13-acre vineyard which supplies estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit for their new on-site winery.

Nine unique and inviting suites are each designed with a touch of European elegance, including luxurious linens, soaking tubs, king beds, and breath-taking views.

It is centrally located near the wedding venue, 2.8 miles off Hwy. 99 between Newberg and McMinnville.

The Allison Resort & Spa - outside Newberg

If you are looking for a five star resort retreat, the Allison Resort & Spa might be what you’re looking for. A bit further from the wedding activities outside the town of Newberg, it’s a 35-acre destination resort with 85 luxury rooms, luxurious spa with 12 treatment rooms, a fitness studio, indoor swimming and spa pools, and a signature restaurant featuring Oregon Wine Country cuisine to be coupled with our extensive wine list.
